Abstract
It is now 30 months since International Society of Nephrology decided to split the Secretary-General's office into a headquarters office to be located in the city where the secretary-general is located and a Permanent Secretariat in Amsterdam, where all the long-term documents and International Society of Nephrology Archives are kept. I am pleased to report that this system has worked very well, largely through the availability of modern communication technology, and thanks to the efficiency and cooperation of the executive staff in both offices, headed by Ms. Ilja Huang. Assignment of various duties to either office is dynamic, depending on the logistics of work burden.
