Abstract

The dependence of the specific retention volumes of sorbates on their concentration in the gas phase is investigated. It is shown that the slope tangent of the dependence is related to the second coefficient of the virial expansion of adsorption isotherm. It is established that the free energy of sorbate-sorbate interactions on the surface of porous polymer sorbents is constant for all investigated molecules. An equation for calculating retention volumes at different sorbate concentrations is proposed.
