Abstract

It is shown that the measured thermal conductivity of He I and scaling arguments yield a second sound velocity for He II in agreement with that calculated from hydrodynamics for T γ − T ⩾ 10 −7°K. This is contradictory to the recent direct measurements by Johnson and Crooks.
