Abstract

The duration of meiosis (start of leptotene to end of telophase II) in Rhoeo discolor Hance., a herabaceous species of the Commelinaceae, has been found to vary from 30 to 43 hr during different seasons of the year. It is suggested that such fluctuations are affected by variation of external temperature.
