Abstract

The purpose of the article is coverage of the current state and prospects of scientific and technical support of forensic expert activities. It should be noted that forensic means are used in two types of activities: forensic expert and technical forensic. The article focuses on technical means of receiving information with saving of the original state of objects (without destroying or damaging them). Research methods: using a dialectical cognition method allowed to concentrate accumulated scientific knowledge in the field of technology and practice of scientific and technical support of forensic expert activities. Discussion: the powers of specialized expert institutions for the development of special technical means for the surreptitious obtaining of information and other types of special equipment. Results: on the basis of the current state of scientific and technical support of forensic expert activities, the definition of the concept «scientific and technical support of forensic expert activities» is proposed. The article explores the problematic issues and prospects of scientific and technical support of forensic expert activities. The development of modern science and technology has caused to the integration into the forensics of many of the latest technical means, solutions and technologies, as well as caused to the improvement of methods and techniques for their application. The authors focus on the organization of scientific and technical support of forensic expert activities in the system of departmental expert institutions. The problem of the development of modern forensic tools (instruments, devices, equipment, equipment, tools, materials and software) and implementation in practical activity is covered.
