Abstract

Using the Mueller formalism, the effect of the conjecture that the coupling of the dipole pomeron is strong only in the double Regge diagrams on the behavior of the inclusive spectrum of pions in the central region, the rising of the inelastic proton-proton cross section at the ISR energies, and the asymptotic behavior of the average multiplicity. For this purpose the Mueller expansion in the central region is used assuming that the leading singularity (pomeron) is a dipole with intercept 1. (JFP)
