Abstract

A study was made of the conversion of the CO2 laser radiation into the second harmonic in proustite at power levels close to the damaged threshold of the proustite crystal. The highest power conversion coefficient was 2.2%. The experimentally observed saturation of the conversion efficiency was due to thermal self-interaction.
