Abstract

In order to improve the efficiency and safety of vehicles in expressway confluence zone, a safety warning and control system based on vehicle-road cooperation is proposed and designed aiming at the shortcomings of traditional control system in response time and coordinated control effect. The key technologies of vehicle-road cooperation are analyzed, including traffic data acquisition technology, vehicle cooperative control technology and safety warning technology. According to the key technology design, the system framework based on vehicle-road cooperation is divided into four parts: information collection module, collaborative control module, safety early warning module and evaluation module. The traffic volume and delay data of the main road and ramp vehicle is calculated by specific algorithm to broadcast safety warning information of expressway confluence zone. The experimental results show that the response time of the system is only 4s in the peak period. The main road and ramp vehicles can pass orderly and the queue length is short, which can effectively improve the traffic operation of the expressway confluence zone.
