Abstract

Fast onset/rapid clearance endoscopic sedation (FORCES) is increasingly popular. Propofol is typically administered by anesthesiologists due to a narrow therapeutic index and a lack of reversal agents. A novel benzodiazepine, CNS 7056, is metabolized by tissue esterases (not cytochrome P450) with a faster onset, a shorter duration, and more rapid recovery profile than other available drugs. We performed the first study of CNS 7056 as sedation for colonoscopy.
