Abstract

Abstract Ruthenium(II) complexes of the type [RuHCO(PPH3)2L], [RuClCO(PPh3)2L] and [RuCO(PPh3)2(CH3CHCN)L] where L = 5-methylthio-, isopropylthio- or butylthio-2-thiolato-1,3,4-thiadiazole, 4-methyl-5-phenyl-3-thiolato- or 4-phenethyl-5-methyl-3-thiolato-1,2,4-triazole and 2-thiolato thiazoline, have been synthesised and characterised by elemental analyses, IR, 1H NMR and electronic spectra. A bidentate coordination of the organic ligand to ruthenium has been established by spectroscopic studies. Molecular weight determinations by vapour pressure osmometry suggest that these complexes are mononuclear.
