Abstract
Relationships between growth and endogenous lysozyme content were studied in tissues of Rubus hispidus cultured in vitro (solid medium). The enzyme level was found to be closely related to the growth rate of culture. A growth regulator (abscisic acid) which reduced cell growth also decreased the endogenous lysozyme level. In the first few days of culture, bacteriolytic activity was strongly correlated to the age of the callus from which the culture was obtained.
