Abstract

The rotation effects of force transducers on the output of a build-up system were investigated using an orthogonal array, which can reduce the total number of experiments efficiently. The effects of the parallelism of the build-up system and of the bending moment compensation of the force transducer on the build-up system were considered. From experiments it was shown that the position of the base platen hardly affected the output of the build-up system., but the positions of force transducers affected it strongly. A new test procedure for the build-up system was suggested to reduce the systematic deviation from the indirect calibration of the build-up system. The calibration result of the designed build-up system from the new test procedure is in good agreement with the indirect calibration.
