Abstract

GPS carrier phase and signal power measurements are the two main techniques used for attitude measurement. In order to measure the roll angle and roll angular velocity of a spinning carrier, a roll attitude measurement technique based on signal power information of the GPS receiver antenna is proposed. The system model of the roll attitude measurement based on GPS signal power is established by using the constant acceleration(CA) model, and an unscented Kalman filter(UKF) is designed for the optimal estimation of the measurement model, which can reduce the effect of noise and achieve the purpose of measuring the roll angle and roll angular velocity. The feasibility of the roll attitude measurement method based on GPS signal power is verified by simulation.
