Abstract

In conclusion, according to previous studies, 3,5–7 transthoracic echocardiography remains the most important technique for achieving an accurate and rapid diagnosis of mechanical complications of AMI. The addition of TEE and transgastric echocardiography is of great value in assessing the severity and the mechanism of mitral regurgitation to delineate complex lesions (very frequent in the present series) and to identify incomplete free wall rupture.
