Abstract

The robust stabilizing control for nonlinear systems in Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model with both parameter uncertainties and disturbances is studied in this paper. First, a design method for the stabilizing controllers when only parameter uncertainties exist in the system model is given based on linear matrix inequality technique. Second, a variable structure controller design method for fuzzy systems is presented when there exist both parameter uncertainties and disturbances in the fuzzy model. The proposed theory is applied to the robust stabilizing controller design for the excitation control of power systems. Simulation results show that the transient stability can be improved by using a fuzzy nonlinear controller when there exist both parameter perturbations and external persistent disturbances in the power systems.
