Abstract

Benchmarking, detecting progress and then readjusting interventions is a valuable process for achieving continuous improvement in road safety. This study developed a systematic and validated methodology, the entropy-TOPSIS-RSR method, to evaluate road safety development in Southeast Asia. In this study, 20 indicators from 11 countries in Southeast Asia were normalized by constructing a decision matrix, then weights were derived and finally countries were ranked and grouped. This approach helps to build capacity for sustainable security management in Southeast Asian countries and to develop better policies for improved livelihoods.
