Abstract
Tensile fabric structures offer possibilities for the solution of urban problems which no other type of structure permits. In the Expo Zaragoza 2008 site (Saragossa, Spain) we have designed a 400 metre-long structure that has turned out to be one of leading attractions of the event. It consists of thirteen pieces of torical surface that twist and turn at a height of 17 metres, taking on the appearance of a river. Technically, it includes some advances in structural geometry that are described in this paper. Artistically, it stands out due to its formal decoration.

Summary
La arquitectura textil ofrece unas posibilidades para resolver problemas urbanos que ningún otro tipo permite. Para la EXPO 2008 en Zaragoza (España) diseñamos una pieza de 400 m de longitud que ha resultado ser uno de los atractivos de la muestra. La solución arquitectónica y estructural debía ser autoestable a efectos de acciones horizontales ya que sólo podíamos recoger sobre el edificio de pabellones las reacciones verticales. Para concluir con la idea, la cubierta textil está decorada con unos patrones artísticos dentro de lo que conocemos como una obra plástica que mezcla técnica y diseño, según se verá en las imágenes de acabado. Queríamos que un alarde arquitectónico estuviera complementado con el diseño de uno de los artistas más importantes del país, en este caso Isidro Ferrer (Figura 3)
