Abstract

Abstract Prismatospora cloptoni n. sp. (Apicomplexa: Eugregarinida: Actinocephalidae: Acanthosporinae) is described from naiads of Anax junius (Odonata: Anisoptera: Aeshnidae) collected from the pond at the Sam Houston State University Center for Biological Field Studies, Walker County, Texas, U.S.A. This is the second species described in the genus, and it confirms the generic hypothesis of Prismatospora. The generic diagnosis is revised to reflect common characters of its constituent species.
