Abstract

At the end of 2022, an unusual book was published - "Nomenclature and rank correlation of higher eukaryotic taxa" authored by I.V. Zmitrovich, V.V. Perelygin and M.V. Zharikov. Its peculiarity is that it is designed simultaneously for theoretical biologists dealing with the problems of systematics and purely practitioners developing the problems of industrial microbiology, bioengineering, biomedicine. These areas are connected by biological systematics, which, according to the successful metaphor of Academician A.L. Takhtajyan, is the foundation and crown of biology.
