Abstract

India and the Global Financial Crisis comes from the experience. Dr. Reddy has shared his views on Indian Financial System in a very interesting fashion. This book is all about the development of Indian financial system and global financial crisis. Indian financial system has been a strong system during the global crisis. The most interesting question comes in mind is ‘what are the measures that could make Indian financial system very strong? The book clearly explains that these measures come from the understanding to the specific features of the system and then taking essential policy measures, which is being done in India. The author states that still there are issues for which appropriate policy measures has to be taken and RBI is making all possible efforts to take the right policy measures. The author mentions that 'In this light, a comprehensive framework to revive the cooperative credit system, revitalize the RRBs and reorient the commercial banking system needs to be given high priority while simultaneously encouraging and enabling the growth of the micro-finance movement in India, which has been very successful'.
