Abstract

A systematic review of 52 meta‐analyses has concluded that antidepressants improve symptoms of depression relative to placebo in patients with comorbid depression and medical illness. Antidepressants were shown to be safe overall but were associated with a higher risk of adverse events compared with placebo.
