Abstract

The 70 eV electron ionization mass spectrometry of the title compounds has shown the presence of two concurrent primary decomposition pathway, corresponding to the retrosynthetic process and to CH2CO loss. The yields of the two pathways can be related tothe XCO bond strengths: as the XCO bond becomes weaker, [MCH2CO]+˙ ion formation is favoured.
