Abstract

We, the Editor and Publisher of the journal Supramolecular Chemistry, have retracted the following article: Sheshanath V. Bhosale, Mohan B. Kalyankar, Sidhanath V. Bhosale, Sudhakar G. Patil, Cecilia H. Lalander, Steven J. Langford & Santosh V. Nalage (2011) Supramolecular self-assembly of protoporphyrin IX amphiphiles into worm-like and particular aggregates, Supramolecular Chemistry, 23:3-4, 263-268, DOI: 10.1080/10610278.2010.523115 Since publication, significant concerns have been raised about the integrity of data and figures in the article. There has also been a dispute raised by some listed co-authors about the legitimacy of the authorship list, whereby authorship had not been agreed to by all parties. When approached for an explanation, the corresponding author did not provide the requested supporting information. Monash University, where research had been conducted, confirm they are investigating issues related to the integrity of the published work. As verifying the validity of published work, including authorship, is core to the integrity of the scholarly record, we are therefore retracting the article. The institution and the corresponding author have been informed. We have been informed in our decision-making by our policy on publishing ethics and integrity and the COPE guidelines on retractions. The retracted articles will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but they will be digitally watermarked on each page as ‘Retracted’.
