Abstract
Resumo: Este trabalho, embasado na sociolinguística crítica e na Teoria Dialógica do Discurso, analisa a ressignificação do adjetivo opressor proposta pelo movimento Marcha das Vadias. Assim, primeiramente, são discutidos dois temas polêmicos para a sociolinguística: o direito de nomear e a ressignificação voluntária. Após, verifica-se alguns aspectos da linguagem feminista, como a valorização do uso das formas femininas e o jargão enquanto ferramenta de exclusão. Por último, analisa-se a argumentação das organizadoras da Marcha sobre a apropriação consciente da adjetivação opressora (do termo “vadia”). Observa-se que tal adjetivo, quando utilizado pelas participantes da Marcha, é esvaziado de sentidos presentes em sua origem etimológica enquanto vocábulo brasileiro racista (para designar escravizados) e classista (para designar prostitutas), embora tente ressignificar o seu sentido machista, relativo à promiscuidade da mulher.

Pensando na dissimetria que surgiu entre a proposta de ressignificação feita pelo movimento Marcha das Vadias e a crítica realizada pelas feministas não adeptas a ele, vemos a importância de analisarmos o código linguístico utilizado pelo movimento, com o objetivo de observar como a apropriação do substantivo opressor para designar coletivamente as participantes desse movimento social refletiu-se nas ideologias defendidas por tal movimento
