They are right in stating that sleeping on the right or left lateral side can result in different blood pressure (BP) values, with BP differences averaging 15 mm Hg.2 Thus, the absolute nighttime BP levels, the day-night BP dip, and the early morning surge in BP should be corrected for the left or right lateral position.
