Abstract

Performance evaluation of ternary optical computer (TOC) has attracted increasing attentions. This paper built a service model by concatenating four queueing systems. And the vacations took place in the third queueing system. Assuming that the intervals of task arrival make a homogeneous Poisson process, we obtained an important performance indicator, i.e. mean response time, based on M/M/1 and M/M/n queuing system with exhaustive service and synchronous multi-vacations. The numerical results illustrated that the number of small optical processors has an important effect on the performance of TOC and the vacation rate has little effect on the performance.
