Abstract

Resonant enhancement of the X-ray magnetic scattering allowed to evidence the antiferromagnetic coupling between the Ni layers in an Ag/Ni multilayer through the appearance at small angles of a magnetic superlattice diffraction peak. The magnetic moments are found to be oriented perpendicular to an applied magnetic field weaker than the saturation field. Moreover, we observed a large magnetization dependent amplitude of 2.5 electrons.
