Abstract

AbstractWe report on the resonance problem of a superstrate‐loaded annular‐ring microstrip structure on a spherical body. This study is performed by using a Green's‐function formulation in the spectral domain and a moment‐method calculation. Numerical results of the resonant frequency and quality factor of the structure are presented. Both cases of the structure, used as a radiator at TM12 mode and as a resonator at TM11 mode, are studied. A great superstrate loading effect is observed for the structure excited at the TM12 mode as a radiator. Details of the results are presented. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
