Abstract

Transport properties of an open circular billiard with attached channels in the presence of the spin-orbit coupling are studied. It is shown that the inclusion of the spin-orbit coupling causes the occurrence of additional narrow Fano resonances on the energy dependence of the conductance. It is established that the resonance regions are associated with the energy levels in a corresponding closed billiard. The effect of small finite temperatures on the observability of the conductance resonances is estimated.
