Abstract

Advanced technologies and equipment for agricultural machinery chassis in hilly and mountainous regions are desperately needed, given the increasing demand for food, the global agricultural labor scarcity, and the decreasing exploitation of agricultural resources. A summary of the development trends and characteristics of mobile chassis, continuously variable transmission (CVT), adaptive steering, and leveling control technologies for agricultural machinery is extremely significant in addressing this demand. This paper: (1) describes the current state of development and research significance for mobile chassis, CVT, and adaptive steering technologies; (2) offers an in-depth analysis of automatic leveling control technology, covering body and equipment leveling, control strategies, and algorithms; (3) identifies future research hotspots and development trends, including diversified composite mobile chassis, electro-hydraulic proportional power delivery technology, cross-regional adaptive steering systems, attitude leveling technology for agricultural machinery, and the development of specialized sensors for the agricultural sector. The summary and viewpoints of this paper have positive significance for promoting the development of agricultural machinery chassis technology in hilly and mountainous areas.
