Abstract
Platelets are the smallest blood cells derived from bone marrow megakaryocytes.Due to their extremely high number and ability to release inflammatory mediators, platelets can act as sentries and provide early signals to immune cells.Platelets are the first type of cell to reach vascular dysfunction and can induce inflammation in the blood vessels, thereby promoting disease progression.Cerebrovascular inflammation is the main cause of various forms of brain injury, including cerebral ischemia, multiple sclerosis, intracranial infection and epilepsy.At present, the mechanism of platelets in brain injury is still unclear.This article reviews the mechanisms of platelets in neuroinflammation.
