Abstract

Skeletal muscle dysfunction is an important complication in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Its occurrence involves oxidative stress,conversion of skeletal muscle fiber types,systemic inflammation,and skeletal muscle mitochondrial dysfunction.This article reviews the possible molecular mechanisms and therapeutic prospects of skeletal muscle dysfunction in COPD patients.
