Abstract

Retinal microglial cells are immune cells of the retina and participate in the retinal immune response. In recent years, it has been found that microglia plays an important role in the pathogenesis of diabetic retinopathy (DR), and is involved in the pathological process of neurodegeneration and microvascular disease in DR.
