Abstract
The paper focuses on the voltage distribution of double-break vacuum circuit breakers (VCBs) with different interrupters in series, which is used to realize self-voltage-sharing and maximum break capacity of double-break VCBs. Based on the Ansoft, the electric field models of double-break VCBs with different interrupters are established, and then the voltage distribution and equivalent capacitance of double-break VCBs are calculated. Moreover, the effect of self-voltage-sharing was analyzed by the equivalent circuit of double-break VCBs. The test platform is set up to test the voltage distribution of double-break VCBs in high frequency voltage. There are different interrupters connected in series, which consists of different combinations. The voltage distribution of different combinations is gained, which is consistent to the simulation results. The simulation and experiment results indicate that the voltage distribution of double-break VCBs without grading capacitors can be improved by proper combinations with different interrupters and self-voltage-sharing effect can be obtained. The paper supplies the effect methods to improve the voltage distribution and even to gain the self-voltage-sharing effect, which is useful to increase the breaking capacity of double-break VCBs.
