Abstract

A robust governor is provided for Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) in presence of nonlinearities, and strong coupling based on fuzzy PID control. At first, PID control and fuzzy control are constructed respectively for SRM, moreover, a series of comparison simulations are achieved including low speed, medium speed and high speed. Simulations show robust governor enables the system reduced by at least 3%, 6% and 20% in overshoot, rise time and setting time respectively, besides setting time can be shortened more than 30% for disturbed system. Effectiveness and efficiencies of the fuzzy PID controller are verified by simulations therefore, different from conventional PID control, SRM fuzzy PID control can achieve higher speed of response, smaller overshoot and stronger robustness.
