Abstract
The deceleration sled test has the advantages of low cost and repeatable, so it is widely used in vehicle crash test. Accurately reproduction of impact acceleration curve in sled test determines the effectiveness of deceleration sled test. In this paper, the waveform generator of the deceleration sled is taken as the research object and analyze the influence of the length of steel plate and the initial velocity of sled on the acceleration of energy absorbing steel plate. The method of using the layout of the energy absorbing steel plate in the waveform generator to reproduce the target acceleration curve is put forward, the method is using the data and duration of acceleration curve to calculate the position and length as well as the quantity of energy absorbing steel plate in the waveform generator. In order to verify the correctness of this method, a real vehicle collision acceleration curve is transformed into equivalent dual-trapezoids curve(EDTC),which is the target curve. The length, position and quantity of the steel plate are calculated. According to the calculated layout of energy absorbing steel plate, the steel plate is installed on the waveform generator, and the deceleration sled test is carried out. Compare the test acceleration curve with the target curve, the two curves are in good agreement. It can be seen that the layout of energy absorbing steel plate in the waveform generator can reproduce the target curve. The method can be widely used in the deceleration sled test for related research, which can save the cost of research and development.
