Abstract

II. E. McKinnon sums up the results of excavations and field-research during four years on the site of Kota Cina, East Sumatra. The abundance of discovered archaeological remains : two stattues of Buddha from the XI-XIIth centuries, many Chinese coins and a great deal of Chinese wares (which are particularly taken in account) let conclude that an important trading center was established at the Xllth century in Kota Cina and that this site, where there is evidence of Indian, Arab and Chinese influences, lasted until the XlVth century.
