Abstract

The group successfully articulated the focus of an area of social inquiry concerned with understanding the functioning of innovation systems, including how resources can be organized for technological advance and social and economic growth. Indicators, performance measurement and evaluation practice all grow out of this larger body of study. The area thus promises to form a critical nexus between innovation theory and science policy.
