Abstract

Ontology is an important mean for knowledge reuse, sharing and modeling. Building an ontology base for structural experiment (OBSE) is the basis of efficiently sharing of structural experiment data. With the help of domain experts, the knowledge of structural experiment was fully analyzed and summarized, and the corresponding ontology base has been designed following standardized method. In order to enrich the knowledge in OBSE, the conversion method from traditional spreadsheet data and relational data to the instances of ontology base was designed and implemented. The construction of OBSE provides a unified specification model in this domain, and reduces the heterogeneity of the concepts and terminology, making it possible for the information exchanging and sharing among staff in different positions or different operating platforms.
