Sustainable development includes integrated management of services and other urban factors in the Integrated Management of Urban Water Resources. The solids are generated by man through urban garbage and modifications of the urban surface with deforestation and increased erosive potential, generating sediments and remains of vegetation. In this paper are characterized the types of residues whose production affects the urban drainage system. Also, it shows the results of research in several countries to quantify and characterize the litter that reaches the urban drainage system as well as structural measures to control
