Abstract

The consideration of energy efficiency of production systems is becoming increasingly important due to social, political and economic aspects. To exploit the efficiency potential available in industry, it is essential to analyze the energy requirements of factories. The basis for efficiency description is an indicator system, which can represent separate processes depending on any number of inputs and outputs. This indicator system is extended by two indicators that can describe interdependencies between processes regarding efficiency. The validation is carried out using a simulation model of a manufacturing system and shows that the interdependencies are represented qualitatively and quantitatively.
