Abstract

Although work on structure editors has been going on for almost twenty years, the designers and users of syntax-directed editors and graphical structure editors had never met to reflect on these tools' past, present, and future. The CHI'90 Workshop on Structure Editors was organized for the purpose of examining structure editors from a human-computer interaction perspective. We also hoped to increase the intersection between the programming environment and human-computer interaction communities.
