Abstract

Abstract Two competing pictures have been proposed which describe the low-temperature properties of spin glasses. We discuss some recent results which try to discern what is the correct description of the spin-glass phase. We review results for the spin-glass order parameter distribution in case of zero and finite magnetic field and for the static chaos problem. We conclude that it is possible to solve this controversy, the crucial point being the existence of a phase transition with a magnetic field.
