Abstract
Fine powder of hydrophobic high silica zeolite was solidified with silica gel which was synthesized from sodium silicate solution in the void of ceramic fiber sheet fabricated into honeycomb structure. The honeycomb rotor of adsorbent has been applied to the VOC abatement system operating with thermal swing of adsorption-regeneration. The adsorbent was nonflammable unlike activated carbon and was encountered with more rapid thermal response than the conventional granular adsorbent because of thin wall of it. Effects of various variables such as the rotation speed, gas flow rate, accompanying humidity, adsorbent properties etc. were examined. With suitable combination of variables, more than 90% of VOCs in the feed gas was removed while VOCs were concentrated more than 10 times in the exhaust gas stream.KeywordsFlow Rate RatioSodium Silicate SolutionHigh Silica ZeoliteFractional RemovalOptimum Rotation SpeedThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
