Abstract

The diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB) in patients infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) can be challenging in resource-limited settings. Extrapulmonary TB is particularly underdiagnosed, with data suggesting that half of patients with disseminated TB are not diagnosed until autopsy [1].
