Abstract
We obtain the relativistic rotation dynamical equations by using the Hamiltonian-Lagrangian formalism. After establishing the dynamical equation for the relativistic rotation, we derive the relation between the rotational-kinetic-energy variation and the angular-momentum variation. Then, we discuss three examples that illustrate how this special relativity formalism deals with rotational processes of systems acted upon by external torques, including cases in which dissipative forces are present.
