Abstract
For a localized center, the Huang-Rhys-Pekar model and the single-configurational-coordinate model for equal force constants are known to give the same formula for the optical absorption and emission band shape. This fact is explained by viewing the HRP model as a collection of N ∼ 10 22 independent SCC oscillators with a common frequency and showing that the W p u distribution describing the SCC-model band shape has a reproductive property similar to that known for the Poisson distribution.
