Abstract

The aim of the present paper is to prove the difficult of diagnosis and the variations in clinical procedure from Bite Wing x-rays as well as to analyze the relation teaching - leaving based on such x-rays. To reach the objective of the research we counted on the participation os students from the 6th and 8th semesters of F.O. UFRGS who made the diagnosis and conducted the clinical procedures based on the 4 Bite Wing x-rays. These had been previosly analysed by the professors of the course on Radiology, the results of which were taken as a pattern. The research sought to identify the existance of homogeneity or the lack of it, in the formulation of diagnosis and of clinical procedures, using as criteria the variables of sex and level of education.

Também conhecidas como Bite Wing, são de grande importância, entre outros, para o diagnóstico precoce de cárie dental, de reabsorções ósseas, de nódulos pulpares, de reabsorções dentinárias internas e externas, e para o controle de tratamento restaurador e de doenças periodontais. Tais erros podem levar a um mau diagnóstico, o que compromete a correta conduta clínica e coloca em risco a saúde do paciente. Considerando a possibilidade de existência de falhas na relação ensino-aprendizagem, este trabalho visa a confrontar diagnósticos presuntivos e condutas clínicas formuladas pelos alunos de 60 e 8o semestres da Faculdade de Odontologia da UFRGS com o padrão, previamente estabelecido pelos professores responsáveis pela Disciplina de Radiologia. Assim espera-se detectar o nível de conhecimento dos alunos, nessa área, para o bom desempenho.da sua atividade proÍissional
