Reimagining engagement: A communication framework for engaged research
ABSTRACT Engaged research entails collaboration between academics, community members, and other stakeholders to facilitate mutually beneficial research, with communication being central to this process. However, existing engaged research frameworks often rely on fragmented engagement. This study addresses this gap by conceptualizing an Engaged Research Communication (ERC) framework to support continuous engagement. The ERC was developed through a multi-step process: (1) a literature study on engaged research principles; (2) integration of these principles into the Mutual Sustainability Communication (MSC) framework; (3) evaluation through an engaged research case study and critical reflection. Insights from this reflection, combined with theory, informed the adaptation of the MSC into the ERC framework. The resulting ERC framework positions communication as an ongoing process that fosters co-creation of knowledge, co-learning, capacity building, and ownership, thereby advancing mutual empowerment and sustainable reciprocity.

Translation has played a very important role in Chinese literature, theory, and criticism. Modern Chinese literature is almost a translated literature, for, through a sort of cultural translation, traditional Chinese literary and critical discourse was deconstructed and has manifested itself in a new form. But translating Western journals into Chinese is only a recent practice, adopted since the turn of the century, because Chinese theorists realize that many insightful theoretical concepts and ideas first appear in journal articles. The article lays more emphasis on why Chinese scholars take the initiative of translating some leading Western humanities journals, such as New Literary History, Critical Inquiry and boundary 2, into Chinese. To the author, founded earliest among all the three above-mentioned and having close relations with Chinese literary scholarship, New Literary History most strongly influences Chinese scholars' literary study and critical thinking. And its academic norms and strict selection of manuscripts have certainly set a fine example in China's literary study and theory and criticism as well as the editing of journals of literary and cultural studies in the Chinese context. Chinese literary and cultural studies, due to the translation of these journals, will move closer and closer toward the international community, thereby having equal dialogues with the latter. Since most of the articles published in the above-mentioned journals anticipate their authors' substantial research and profound thinking of cutting-edge theoretical issues, they will certainly provide illumination to Chinese scholars' theoretical reflections. The article also points out that globalization has broken through the demarcation between nations and countries, and between center and periphery, with transnational corporations functioning as an "empire" everywhere. In this way, globalization has also benefited people who want to get out of their isolated domain, enabling them to communicate more effectively in such a "global village." It has therefore enabled Chinese scholars to more conveniently communicate with the international scholarship on any theoretical and academic topic, including literary and cultural studies. In today's context, they translate Western and international theoretical journals into Chinese, for the purpose of making China's literary and theoretical studies closer to the international community and allowing it to communicate more easily with the same. Maybe in the near future, when the Western and international colleagues want to know what has been going on in China's literary and cultural studies, and what new ideas we Chinese theorists have put forward, they will also start, in collaboration with their Western colleagues, to translate some excellent Chinese theoretical journals into the major Western and international language: English.

The use of museums as a medium for evaluating history learning plays a strategic role in improving the quality of the learning process while sharpening students' critical thinking skills. This study aims to evaluate history learning at the Learning Museum of Universitas Negeri Malang (UM), focusing on optimizing the museum’s role in supporting students' critical thinking abilities. A qualitative approach with a participatory design was employed, involving museum administrators, lecturers, and history students as key participants. Primary data were collected through participant observation and in-depth interviews, while secondary data were obtained from literature studies, documentation, and museum archives. Data analysis was conducted thematically through the stages of data reduction, display, and verification to ensure the validity of the findings. The results indicate that the application of a participatory approach in history learning at the museum significantly enhances student engagement, strengthens critical and reflective thinking skills, and fosters a deeper understanding of historical material. Students not only function as recipients of information but also actively engage in discussing historical contexts and reflecting on the relevance of historical values in contemporary life. Furthermore, the museum has proven to be an effective medium for authentic, contextual, and enjoyable learning evaluation, capable of bridging the gap between theory and practice. This study contributes to the literature on museums as a medium for participatory learning and critical thinking in history education. The findings also provide practical recommendations for museum administrators and educators in designing innovative history learning programs. More broadly, this research may serve as a reference for developing museum-based history learning strategies in Indonesia and at the international level.

The fast growth of science and technology in the 21st century has made it necessary for advances in many sectors, including social, economic, educational, and health. Physiotherapists must have highly developed critical thinking abilities, such as creative, critical, problem-solving, and analytical thinking, to deal with these changes. Creativity is the capacity to view, shape, and organize the world in a unique way, whereas critical thinking is the ability to think outside the box, notice parts that others cannot see, be open to new ideas, and never be afraid to attempt new things. All of the continually developing and changing knowledge cannot be included in educational programs for physiotherapy students. The Six Thinking Hats were designed by Edward de Bono. The "Six Thinking Hats" concept is a teaching strategy for encouraging creative thinking by organizing and presenting ideas within a predetermined framework. The goal of the study was to apply the Six Thinking Hats model to physiotherapy themes in order to create a creative teaching technique and get feedback by fostering the critical thinking abilities of physiotherapy students. During the 2021-2022 academic year, there were 42 students registered for III and IV BPT students enrolled for physiotherapy course; however, the research sample comprised 41 students. The course included 6 h of theory and 18 h of clinical sessions. Students were taught by two instructors via a PowerPoint presentation on SCI, obesity, and for further practice, they were given two case studies taught by Six Thinking Hats model. After the class, each group received a set of hats in one of six colors to use the Six Thinking Hats method effectively, and then students were asked to provide opinions on the Six Thinking Hats model of learning. Data analysis and response reporting were conducted, using literature and student comments. The Six Thinking Hats model was discovered to be more efficient in comprehending topics and provides all-encompassing care. The ability to understand patients' views, see both the positive and negative aspects in conditions, develop their ability to think critically, and create with unique concepts all improved for the students. About 90.2% of students stated that they learned to think from different aspects, 85.4% of the students stated that it ensured they considered the patient holistically, 87.8% of the students stated that the method allowed for sharing different ideas and thoughts, 75.6% that it helped them to produce creative ideas. Overall, 95% of students agreed that the Six Thinking Hats approach was better than conventional lectures and case studies, with 5% disagreeing. This study concluded that the Six Thinking Hats model of learning is a creative teaching method that is useful for the development of physiotherapy students' critical thinking. Skills and having this type of study in the physiotherapy literature add to the improvement and enrichment of physiotherapy education.

The goal of this current descriptive study was to examine the roles and relationships of evaluators with the tribal communities in which they work. First, we describe a participatory community research model with a strong capacity-building component as the standard for assessing successful working partnerships between evaluators, programs, tribes, and tribal organizations. This model serves as a yardstick against which we examine the success and challenges of program-evaluation partnerships. Second, we report on a survey of tribal Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting program leaders and outline their impressions of successes and challenges related to program-evaluation partnerships. Survey participants discussed the importance of working with evaluators who have deep investment in and understanding of the tribal community; respect for cultural relevance and honor for cultural ways; collaboration that includes transparency, trust, and translation of research for community leaders and members; a focus on strength-based design without losing the need to consider challenges; and relationships of mutual trust that can weather addressing stressors when issues of conflict, limited resources, and/or mixed expectations arise.

The purpose of this paper is as a reference especially for guidance and counseling teachers in improving students' critical thinking competencies in school. Critical thinking is one of the competencies that must be mastered by students in the current era of disruption, in line with other competencies, such as creativity, communication and collaboration (Kemdikbud, 2016). Surely, this has become a challenge for guidance and counseling teachers in the current era of disruption. Therefore, here we offer an idea for BK teachers in schools, especially in improving students' critical thinking competencies, through implementing deep dialogue / critical thingking in guidance and counseling services in the disruption era, namely an activity of guidance and counseling services that carried out by operating intellectual potential possessed by students to be able to analyze things, make judgments, and make the decisions correctly and carried it out correctly. Moreovere, it can be realized in interpersonal relationships, mutual openness, honesty and also rely on kindness. The data collection method carried out in this writing is through literature studies. Literature studies are conducted to strengthen the problems and solutions that will be raised in this paper. So hopefully that the existence of this writing can be an alternative or a solution for guidance and counseling teachers in improving students' critical thinking skills in the era of disruption.

The development of globalization affects all aspects of life, including education. The world of education entering the fifth revolution is characterized by the use of digital devices and the internet in learning. This results in demands and responsibilities for teachers and students to train the framework of creativity, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking known as 4C.One effective way to enhance students' critical thinking and communication skills is through the implementation of the ADI (Argument-Driven Inquiry) learning model. The application of the ADI model is focused on the activities of students in building their knowledge independently to convey the results of their findings as a form of communication. Implementing ADI in chemistry learning will train students to find a finding based on scientific evidence. However, implementing the ADI learning model has obstacles to achieving learning objectives. One is that students are less accustomed to arguing during learning. This causes the ADI learning model to need to be assisted by other approach models in order to increase the effectiveness of ADI learning. This literature review applies Systematic Literature Review (SLR) by reviewing the results of previous research and adjusting to the focus of the study. The results of the review of some of these studies indicate that applying the ADI learning model with the help of several approaches, such as metacognitive and practicum-assisted learning chemistry, provides better results in increasing students' critical thinking skills and scientific argumentation.
