Abstract
The IAHS symposium Regional Characterization of Water Quality was held May 15–16, sponsored by the International Commission on Water Quality. The seven sessions were on geostatistics and water quality, network design, water quality assessments and indices, lake water quality, effects of agriculture on surface water quality, effects of urban influences on surface water quality, and effects of atmospheric chemistry on surface water quality. Two poster presentations covered topics on an environmental tracer approach and global planning in water quality.
